It seems the Consulate General of France in San Francisco is a lot more useful in helping French nationals finding jobs, grants and what not than the one in Houston (according to both websites). For example, the SF's website has a direct link to their cultural pages (grants! grants! grants!). Not mention that it is more conveniently located (on Bush, near Market St). The consulate in Houston, meanwhile, is near the Galleria, sure, on Post Oak and 610, but good luck getting there with the bus.
