Sarah Lenore Nelson currently lives in San Francisco and attends California College of the Arts endeavoring for her MFA. She attended Southern Illinois University at Carbondale to receive her BA in Sociology and Women Studies. Sarah grew up in the suburbs of Chicago, her artwork being shaped by her parents professional involvement in the Plastic and Medical industries. After college and before moving to SF she labored in the cosmetic industry for several years.

"The works in PART DESIRE display a symbology that is both abstract and specific to my experience. These image / objects are at once severe and playful. Their three-dimensionality breaches the frame while creating an awkward vessel. A hollow crust, they are bodily, needy and vulnerable. Both a presence and an absence."
