The most honored representative from Colorado and presidential hopeful, Tom Tancredo, has stated last week that "bilingual countries didn't work." Hum, what about Canada (French and English), Spain (Castillan, Catalonian, Galician, Basque, ...), Belgium (French and Flemish), China (Mandarin, Cantonese, Shanghaiese, Wu, ...), Morocco (French and Arabic), South Africa (English, Afrikaans and countless of other languages), the small German Staat of Schlewig-Holstein (Danish and German), Luxembourg (Luxemburghese, German and French), Russia (hum, don't ask me), Switzerland (French, German, Italian, Romanche) ...

Oh, yeah, that's right! They're all commie countries.

I find it strange that there's this really great example of a bilingual country, a country that all these assholes believe to be the greatest country in the world, so much so that any one who has an idea about this country that's different than theirs, they are with the terrorists. I'm not sure where Tancredo is from, but here in the United States, there are a lot of different languages, and I think we've done a pretty decent job of it.

Well, we WERE doing a decent job of it.

Amish, this actually reminds me of a fairly recent article in the New York Times about the state of Maine reinstituting the teaching of French in elementary school. Not as an effort to teach foreign languages, but because parts of Maine were actually in Quebec and therefore French-speaking.

1st of all, I want to assert that Flemish and French are the same language...

Second of all, I think Tancredo should have taken into consideration that Yiddish is spoken all over Europe and the Jews have been successful at progressively integrating into Society while keeping their proud cultural heritage. Oh wait... that was from the late 19th Century... Shiiiit... where was Tancredo during Kristalnacht, anyway??

3rd of all, the Flemish are an internet hoax like you, Francois. Flems only exist in Dada. Q.E.D.
