Since moving to San Francisco, I noticed that I had started smoking a lot less. Not out of a health-conscious decision, mind you (too lazy for that), but because there is a smoking ban in place here. A pack of cigarettes can last me two days now. And see, because I am somewhat lazy, I am not about to leave my cup of coffee or my computer or my pint of beer inside to go have a smoke. So no smoke. And I don't smoke inside my apartment.

So is the smoking ban a good idea in terms of public health? Hum ... Looks like it.
