You know what's worse than getting to a poetry reading late? Getting to a poetry reading as the reader is about to start on his last poem. That was the Bob Hicok reading for me yesterday night, then followed by much talk about poetry with Jericho Brown, Andrew Kozma and Matt Siegel, including Jericho going against the notion of cannon, as he cited the example of Robert Duncan (apparently, Claudia Rankine covered Duncan during her short time here. This shouldn't surprise me, yet it did) and then much insanity, including me getting a tattoo (just three lines. Photos forthcoming).
