My buds of echostream (Tomo Asaha, Ryoko Otani and Tony Grund) just finished their first video, for their song "Shadow of a Cloud" (last track on their first album). I had to pleasure to book them for the Oni-Con concert last year.

Here is the video and what Tony and Ryoko have to say about it:

March 5th, 2006. The members of echostream and film maker Mark Miremont converge from all points of the globe on the ruin that once was New Orleans. Although the downtown proper is still standing, a lot of the surrounding neighborhoods have been flattened by the flood waters created by hurricane Katrina on August 29th, 2005.

It is in this desolation that the band and the director shoot their video. They choose this location to bring some attention to the destruction that covers most of the area. Although it's been six months since the hurricane hit, by the look of the neighborhoods, it could have been only one.

Please inform yourself. This is still a tragedy. For more information, please go here.

Read more about the relief efforts at Mark's own myspace blog.
