France 1-0 PortugalI'm ecstatic about our win today, but the game still feels a bit like a bad shag. We did it, but it wasn't very good.
Both sides played magnificently during the first half and Zidane scoring that goal on penalty was orgasmic. Thierry Henry still tried to score before the end of the half, but failed. Zidane played decently, but not magically like he did against Brazil.
And then there was the defensive lapse during the second half and the many scares and the weird volleyball save by Barthez.
But all that matters is that we are going to Berlin Sunday.
Oh, and Cristiano Ronaldo dives way too often.

it's not as fun watching a game knowing who's gonna win.
but i watched it anyway.
i'm rooting for france and fortunately will be able to watch it live this sunday and, thusly, no surprises will be given away.

frankly, i think portugal played as well as france, if not better in certain instances.
winning a game by a penalty kick is kind of weird. it's almost 100% pure luck.
I totally agree that Portugal played extremely well (despite Cristiano Ronaldo's dives, but he played well too) and much better than France during the second half.
As for that penalty kick, with Zidane, it's not luck. As soon as he gets behind the ball, you know that he's going to score it.
