France 1(3)-1(5) Italy

We played well. We even played well when Zidane got redcarded for a stupid mistake (for all that matters, the guy probably insulted Zizou's mother). Hell, we probably played better than Italy during overtime. Winning over penalty kicks is really a lousy way to win.

Yeah, I am probably feeling like Italian fans when Baggio missed that penalty against Brazil in 94.

Going on a short break from here. Trying to watch almost every game is exhausting. And I need to do my reading and get back on track for my MiPOesias reviews.

Yeah, France should have won. Awesome head-butt. I went to Queens to meet a friend last night and the place was going nuts with Italian flags and booming dance music.

Yes, we could have won, but we didn't. What matters is that we still put on a good show. As for that headbutt, there are rumors that Materazzi called Zidane a "dirty terrorist" or a "harki," which is not surprising coming from someone who plays at Inter Milan, a club notorious for its fans using racist slurs whenever a non-Caucasian player steps on the pitch. I am glad that Zidane, despite that headbutt, still received the Golden Ball award.
