Hard to believe, it's already been two years now since Francis Crick died. Crick, with James Watson, discovered the anti-parallel and helicoidal structure of desoxyribonucleic acid.
Ridley suggests Crick was quicker to conduct research around the principle that “DNA was an information machine, not a mechanism in itself.” While the shape of DNA allows genes to replicate, DNA itself is fundamentally a code: genes’ effects are transmitted by the sequence of its four bases, called A, T, C and G for short.
Hum ... code/machine.

Obviously, my interest in genetics and neurosciences is greater than the one I have in quantum mechanics and string theory.

Oh, you mean Crick of Crick, Watson, & Franklin?

I'm the self-appointed Reminder that Rosalind was instrumental in the discovery of the shape of DNA.

Yes, he of Crick, Watson & Franklin! I always forget Franklin's name. Most biology courses will drop her name for whatever reason. But at least, the Nobel committee remembered her too.
